Intoduction"Newbs are simply newcomers—noob and n00b, on the other hand, generally means someone who is obnoxious, annoying, or breaks the rules; whether they are actual newcomers or not is mostly irrelevant." (Wikipedia)
Welcome to the Whine Cellar, an idea by POWER! The Whine Cellar is a gag of an endgame dungeon (the resting place of all noobs) that pokes fun of so-called noobs, not necessarily newcomers. Hope you enjoy it! ~POWER Lore"That I can kill you repeatedly is by far your most appealing trait." (Darth Vader to Cylo-VI)
So he'd done it. He'd built his realm. And he'd tapped into a near-infinite food source. This should have been his most glorious moment. But instead, it was his most exasperating. For the one problem that Oryx couldn't solve was the never-ending number of noobs that had invaded his realm. He could slaughter in battle, of course: even his most underpowered minions could unleash a wave of carnage, leaving behind eighty-five bodies of wizards and priests. But they just. Kept. Respawning. Without end. And so a truce was called between the Mad God and the then-leader of the players, Itani the Archwizard, over the threat of noobs that had devastated both parties. A clandestine meeting ensued: overnight, a "Nexus" for players was forged, protected by a spell so strong that Oryx himself could not break it. And Itani had disappeared without a trace. The players searched far and wide for their leader to no avail: little known to them, he had been locked into a new realm to contain the spirits of noobs, a sealed chamber never to see the light of day. And there, the noble sanity of Itani eroded day by day until it gave way to the lethal combination of noobness and power that dwarved even the Mad God. And in that realm, Itani waited. He waited for the smallest chance; he waited for the impossible; he waited for the sliver of hope that the final struggle of a dying noob would tear the fabric of space and time, that it would rip a void into his forbidden realm. And when an adventurer was foolish enough to step into that void, Itani was there. And he would strip every last iten off of their dead body. Unlocking the Whine CellarA portal to the Whine Cellar opens at a 0.1% chance for the death of a wizard leveled 1-5; its key can be bought in the Nexus for 390 Realm Gold.
Dungeon LayoutThe layout of the whine cellar is split into two parts. The first part is randomly generated and structured like a normal dungeon (there may be a treasure room here):
In the boss room lies the Lord of Bots. After he is defeated, a new portal opens, revealing the second part of the dungeon. This part is pre-generated:
Boss Room 1 is the location of the Philosonoob of the Forums. After defeating him, Boss Room 2 is unlocked: here, you will face your final foe, Itani the Archwizard.
As you might be able to tell, this dungeon is themed after the tutorial (read: POWER is too lazy to make his own tiles). Below are the tiles in the whine cellar:
Example boss room:
The EnemiesWizardsWizards in the Whine Cellar are the souls of dead wizard noobs.
It is important to note that these wizard can level up after damaging players, increasing their abilities and that they have a vitality-like attribute, allowing them to heal themselves. PriestsPriests in the Whine Cellar are the souls of dead priest noobs.
It is important to note that these wizard can level up after damaging players, increasing their abilities and that they have a vitality-like attribute, allowing them to heal themselves. Furthermore, priests can heal others. More Enemies: Coming SoonEnemies include scorpions, pirates, and hobbit mages.
Miniboss 1: Internet of BotsCurrently unfinished. Spawns minions that obscure the view with text boxes; you should not turn text boxes off because bots announce when they die (and burst a huge wave of damage).
Miniboss 2: Philosonoob of the
A self-proclaimed philosopher, the Philosonoob of the Forums is as old as the forums themselves. He may seem unintelligent, but beware.
Drops will be released when I am less lazy.
Phase 1: BombsThe philosonoob reveals one of his most recent incarnations. He fires bombs that explode for 2.5 range upon impact and spawns turrets (5 max) that fire rings of 10 blue stars.
Bomb Turret
Invulnerable Shoots: light blue star (10 shots) Note: moves randomly Phase 2: Best Weapon IdeaWhen the philosonoob reaches 200,000 HP, he will announce his new weapon idea, the eVIlL xM|U|R|D|U|Rx DEmen sordD of ULTIMATE DEATHHH. This is an extremely overpowered 16x16 sword idea that inflicts daze on its targets. The sword orbits around the Philosonoob, with the projectiles coming from the sword. When this phase is almost over, the philosonoob will also announce that "mY dad is HAEKKAR AND HE WILL KILLL YOU and HAEKK YOU if yuo dont like this idEa."
This phase is quite dangerous, as the projectiles are rather damaging. Note that you will get dazed in this phase, so be prepared. the eVIlL xM|U|R|D|U|Rx DEmen sordD of ULTIMATE DEATHHH.
Phase 3: Onyx ∞The philosonoob's final phase is his announcement of his endgame content when he reaches 100,000 HP. He starts by transforming himself into a beautiful Oryx sprite, stating that "YOU ARE WEAK KILL ONYX 2!!! FACE ME, ONYX 3, IN THE BEER CELLAR!!!!!"
"I SHALL KILL ALL OF YOU!!!!!! He releases a huge amount of white balls, which do no damage but inflict a random negative status effect for 0.4 seconds. However, it does not seem to do no damage: damage shows up as 999 on screen. As the philosonoob is damaged more, he grows larger and larger and begins to elevate Oryx beyond Onyx 3. "ONYX 3 WAS TOO WEAK!!!! ONYX 4 IS STRONG!!!!!!!" "YOU'RE TIME IS UP!!!!!!" "ONYX 4 IS DEFEATED!!!!???!?!?!?!? I WILL NOW TRANSFORM TO MY FINAL FORM!!!!!!!! XYNO!!!!!!!!!!" "think ur gOOD kill me?!!?!? HAHAHA ur DYING HAHAHA!!!!!" "WHAT!!!!!!! WHY ARE YOU NOT DYING!!!!! I WILL USE FINAL FORM!!!!!!!!!!" Meanwhile, apparent damage rises to ridiculous levels, at 999999999999999999 for Xyno. Aesthetic: White Ball
Damage: 0 (apparent damage huge) Projectile speed: 15 Range: 20 Notes: Inflicts a random negative status effect for 0.4s. And after this, the philosonoob is defeated. Good riddance.
Final Boss: Itani the ArchwizardAfter a hard fight, you've finally reached the end. He who meets you is none other than Itani himself.
Sprite Credit to McG.
As the former leader of the coalition agains Oryx, Itani the Archwizard was mighty enough to challenge Kalle as a mere mortal and has grown to unimaginable levels of power since his confinement in the living hell that is the whine cellar.
Targets closest player. Chases.
Reproduction: Eashy Max: 5 Cooldown: 10s Iawa Max: 8 Cooldown: 10s Drops: Ancient Wizard Set (0.5% Each)
Itani's attack stages. This will be overhauled. Please excuse the bad quality of images: these were made when I was using Powerpoint and Microsoft Paint 4 years ago. Note that no spawned wizards are visible to keep the image neat.
Phase 1: Free itens pl0x!!!Itani asks for itens. This phase is Itani's easiest phase and stops when he hits 350,000 HP. Itani fires a shotgun of projectiles; he aims at the closest player but he is only able to rotate his shotgun about 1 rotation/second to make the phase melee-able. The shotgun consists of a shortbow in the center, two energy staves on its side, and two steel daggers to the side of that.
Phase 2: OMG! Ball OP!Itani realizes his normal item-pleading won't work in the face of actual pros. Instead, he complains about the difficulty of the tutorial. He spawns a web of invincible guardian turrets (shown here) that shoot green blobs in a grid pattern to confine players and 5 attack turrets (not shown) who shoot yellow blobs and aim at players. Itani himself shoots slow, powerful red blobs. All of this, combined with the attacks of wizard minions, make this phase quite a dodging frenzy. The phase ends when Itani has 225,000 HP left.
Phase 3: Scammer!!!Here, Itani gets truly dangerous. There are no special minions summoned and only two types of attacks, but don't let the simplicity fool you. The basilisk/griffon hide armor is very fast moving and pierces players; it is sometimes necessary to take a hit by the basilisk hide, but the griffon hide is highly damaging. In addition, Itani shoots slow-moving spirit salve/purification tomes in a somewhat regular, spiral pattern (different from and thicker than what is shown here, will update). This is a nightmare for both melee and ranged players. The phase ends when Itani has 100,000 HP left.
Final Phase: HP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Itani's final phase... and his most deadly. Here, Itani pleads for HP, releasing a plethora of HP-related shots. He alternates between vulnerable and invulnerable states, making him even harder to kill. His projectiles are similar to the previous phase (except even more devastating); he continuously spawns destructible health turrets, and player who approaches him will experience a health drain of 10HP/s.
Health Potion Turret
HP: 5000 Defense: 25 Shoots a spiral of health potions at a very fast pace. Spawned by Itani at a rate of 1 every 10 seconds; no limit to amount. It is important for melee classes to eliminate these turrets as they are spawned, as it is highly difficult to approach Itani in this phase. Congratulations! You finally made it. Defeating Itani is no easy feat.
Treasure RoomStatue of Itani
HP: 500,000 Defense: 100 Does not move or attack. Drops same as Itani. Environment: Extremely crappy gif of how a treasure room works:
Loot wizards will steal Itani's loot! Defeat them to get the loot.
